#113 - Why Systems are key to your growth

In my opinion, working for yourself is way harder than working for someone else.

Yes, there are always tradeoffs. And I am not going to lie, there are days when I fantasize about being given a checklist of things to do knowing that I get to put it all behind me when I clock out at 5 pm.

But that’s not the choice neither you nor I have made.

You most likely made this choice because

📍 take your kids to soccer practice

📍 work, unshowered, in your sweats

📍 control your own schedule (even if it’s 24/7 right now)

📍 you’re an artist and creative and you want to do what you love

📍 build something fabulous - even when it feels exhausting

Over the past 3 decades as a serial entrepreneur, I have learned a thing or two and it really wasn’t until the last 5 years that I figured a few key things out.

Without a viable plan and the strategy to execute that plan, you’ll go nowhere. You will ultimately go somewhere, but it could take you twice as long to get there.

You’ll become that dog who is constantly chasing its own tail and never, ever catches it. And as an entrepreneur, you will never ever get to your end goals if you don’t have the intention behind the plan. Today's tips will help you start to build the roadmap.

Tip #1
Think about the long-term goal, but don’t obsess about it. It’s important to know what you want and how you want to design your life, but staying in the present is imperative. Right now, just make the list of what you would ideally like to accomplish over the next year.

Tip #2
After you have made that list (which can be as long as you like), highlight 5 - 7 that you feel you can realistically accomplish. Don’t just think about business or income. Create a balance between financial, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and physical.

Tip #3

What’s one that you can start to strategize now? Attach a realistic completion date to it. Then reverse engineer all the tasks it will take for you to complete that project. For example, if you want to grow your email list, then what are some of the steps you need to take in order to begin to do that? Tackle 2 - 3 tasks a day until you can successfully cross that goal off your list.

And because I don’t want you to be that dog🐕, chasing your own tail, I have put together a workshop that any solopreneur, artisan, creative, or go-getter can attend. For FREE.
